The City of Edmonton will be micro-surfacing roads in the SATOO neighbourhood starting tomorrow, Sep 16 2025 at 7am, weather permitting.

‘No Parking’ signs have been set up on the individual streets that are affected starting tomorrow and will move through the neighbourhood as work is completed.

Tows will occur as needed for any vehicles that do not adhere to the No Parking signs. Contact the on site inspector if your vehicle is towed.

WHAT TO EXPECT THE DAY OF THE MICRO-SURFACING TREATMENT
Representatives will come to your door the day your street will be sealed to inform you of the work.
Workers are staged at road entrances to inform residents as they return home.
Each individual street will only be affected for a few days, with closures occurring between 7am to 7pm.
WHAT CAN PROPERTY OWNERS DO TO HELP?
Please do not make u-turns or stationary turns on newly sealed roads for seven to ten days to allow the material time to cure and to prevent damage to the road surface. Travel with caution while passing workers and do not approach employees while they’re working.
WHAT IS MICRO-SURFACING?
Micro-surfacing is a proven and cost-effective method of extending the life of roadways. A thin coating of a mixture containing liquid asphalt and small sized gravel is applied to the road surface. This seals the roadway from water and ice, reduces future cracking, and helps to decrease the number of potholes which may develop over time. It may take several weeks to complete the entire neighbourhood, weather permitting. This road work is being performed by a contractor hired and supervised by the City of Edmonton.
