We are loving this community!

There’s nothing better than seeing our community come together to take care of the spaces we all share. Recently, our friends at EMSA South soccer stepped up in a big way to help us keep the Ekota rink going strong. Volunteers spent their time painting and repairing damaged boards—giving this old gal a much-needed refresh.

And because no work bee is complete without good food, volunteers enjoyed Real Deal Meats hot dogs after a busy day of work.

A big thank you to our volunteers and supporters!

Looking Ahead: A New All-Season Rink

While patching things up keeps our rink in use, we’re also dreaming bigger. Knottwood is building a Rink Replacement Committee to explore funding opportunities for a brand-new, all-season facility.

Our vision includes:

  • New rink boards and benches

  • An asphalt or concrete base for durability

  • Space for year-round activities like pickleball, ball hockey, basketball, and more

This new rink would give our community a safe, modern space to stay active together in every season.

If you’re interested in getting involved, please email us at info@knottwoodcommunity.ca. You can also check back here on our website for updates as this exciting project takes shape.
