1. Upcoming Public Information Sessions

The City of Edmonton now has a draft Community and Recreation Facility Master Plan, model and implementation plan. These components will be key in guiding effective decision making for new and existing recreation facilities, such as co

mmunity centres, indoor soccer pitches, ice arenas, seniors centres and aquatic centres, to name a few.

The Master Plan and its pieces have been built on the invaluable input provided by more than 5,500 Edmontonians and 250 other stakeholder groups. This input has helped shape the City’s approach to recreation facilities in Edmonton for the next 20 years.

We are inviting you to take part in one of the City’s two public information sessions to provide comments, ask questions and see displays before the Master Plan goes to council this spring.

2. City Seeking Feedback on Cannabis Sales Locations

City staff are collecting feedback on a draft proposal. What types of buildings and businesses are most important for cannabis stores to be separated from? Should any of the proposed separation distances be changed?  Comments received before March 21, 2018, will be included in the report going to city council hearing tentatively scheduled for May 7th. The draft proposal is on the City’s Cannabis Legalization website.
