SUMMARY:Plan a neighbourhood social this summer!
DESCRIPTION:Get to know your neighbours this summer! \nWe invite you to “get neighbourly”  this summer and plan a social event for your block or crescent. \nNeighbourhood socials are fun and an excellent way to make new friends\, catch up on the neighbourhood news\, etc. They can be as simple as a neighbourhood BBQ\, potluck\, fire pit gathering\, lawn party\, yard sale\, Canada Day celebration\, neighbourhood walking tour\, soccer game\, or plan a neighbourhood project like helping a family in need or a neighbour with mobility issues clean their yard. \nEvery social event will win City of Edmonton attraction passes. All you have to do is snap a photo of your event and send it to us between May 21 and August 15.  Your pictures will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages and/or in our newsletter. You can draw a name at your neighbourhood social to determine who gets the passes or give them to the organizer of the event. It’s up to you! \nTo take part\, email us a picture of your event\, along with the address to volunteer@knottwoodcommunity.ca. \nUse your imagination\, have fun\, share your event! \nQuestions? Email volunteer@knottwoodcommunity.ca.

SUMMARY:Knottwood's Beautiful Yards 2019
DESCRIPTION:Show off your yards for the summer!\nDo you love to garden\, grow flowers or vegetables and take good care of your yard? Or do you have a neighbour whose front or backyard makes you smile? If yes\, then we invite you to take part in Knottwood’s first annual Beautiful Yards Contest. \nHow it works\nSend us a photo or your front and/or backyard or nominate your neighbour. Pictures will be posted to our Knottwood Community League Facebook page and Instagram page where our followers will vote. \nWin great prizes\nThe top five yards with the most likes or hearts will win some Knottwood swag\, including a 2019-20 community league membership (which gets you access to free swimming\, skating and more)\, and passes to popular City of Edmonton attractions. The winning homes will also be featured in the September issue of Knottwood News and on our website blog. \nAny Knottwood folks who nominate their neighbours\, will also be entered into a draw for a chance to win City of Edmonton attraction passes. \nNOTE: Please be sure to send us your first name\, address and the area of Knottwood that you live in. Please indicate if we can publish your first name and the area you live in. \nPlease help us spread the word!\nThe contest runs June 25 to August 25. Be sure to like our Facebook page and invite your neighbours to do so as well.
