SUMMARY:Let's Flow Yoga
DESCRIPTION:6:30 to 7:30 p.m. “Let’s Flow” – All ages*\, Levels* and Mobility*. *Modifications included. \nMindfully move through each shape\, focusing the mind with balances as we transform the physical body through gentle flowing sequences. Movements that inspire us to explore all the spaces in our body\, mind and soul\, while being mindful to find a rhythm true to yourself and to move with kindness for the body you’ve arrived with. This is our most varied offering – allowing you to choose if you want a slower flow or if you want to flow freely\, you decide which works for you!  \nSequences/Postures to Expect: Warrior 1 -> Warrior 2 -> Extended Side Angle\, Table -> Wide Lunge -> Gate Pose\, some Balances\, and Sun Salutations. A mix of low and high energy flows\, as well as plenty of transitions (Seat to Stand\, Stand to back\, Belly to Table\, etc) for you to experiment with. \nFebruary 20 (6 classes)\n6:30 to 7:30 p.m. \nKnottwood Community League Members fees per class are $36 ($6/class)\nNon-members per class are $66 ($11/class)\nRegister Below. \nAbout the Class \nFor all classes: I invite you to find comfort in your physical body and peace in your mind\, as you take this time to reconnect with yourself. Listen to the signals the body is sending you with every breath and each movement\, allowing your body to guide you throughout the practice. If you find a posture doesn’t quite feel right\, you may leave the posture at any time for a more comfortable one or start your Savasana a little early. It’s your practice\, you do what you want to! \nAll postures will be approached in a “building block” fashion\, establishing a solid foundation before adding more to the pose. This presents the opportunity to customize your practice to your body’s individual needs\, pausing wherever you feel most comfortable in the posture. Modifications will be offered as well! If you’re finding a pose to be ‘tricky’ or uncomfortable\, let us know and we will take the time to find a version of that posture that works for you! \nProps are not required for class offerings unless specified\, however if you use them with your regular practice I encourage you to bring them along! I have a small selection of props available on a first come basis if you’d like to try them out in a class before purchasing. \nAbout the Instructor \nNamaste\, my name is Patrisha and I’m honored to meet you! \nYoga has been a pivotal part of my life for 10 years\, from healing sport injuries and maintaining stress to encouraging mindfulness and compassion for others in my everyday life. I was first introduced to the practice as a tool to rehab an injury sustained from falling from a horse\, slowly rebuilding the strength in my arm one Down Dog at a time. Before long I was hooked on the benefits my body was feeling\, and wanted to learn more. I continue to be a student of the practice as there is always something new to learn! \nI started Missfit of Yoga 2 years ago with the vision of bringing yoga to people of all ages\, cultural backgrounds\, ranges of mobility and levels of experience\, honoring the mantra “Yoga is for every body!” I like to encourage a spirit of playfulness and a dose of inspiration to help you deepen your practice. It is my intention to safely guide you through each of the movements throughout class\, applying ancient wisdom to our contemporary western world in a useful\, fun\, and understandable way. I seek to help others thrive in life by nurturing body\, mind and soul with yoga\, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed with a spring in your step \nKeep Shining Brightly\, \n– Patrisha Kavanagh Cline

SUMMARY:Steady Flow Yoga
DESCRIPTION:10 – 11am “Steady Flow” – All Ages*\, Levels* and Mobility*. *For Low Mobility \nBreathe a little deeper as you take it easy in the AM\, giving your body a chance to stretch away the sleep from the night before. In this offering we will reach\, twist and fold the tension away with gentle sequencing and short pauses to spend time exploring each shape. This is a great offering for those who aren’t in a rush first thing\, or are looking for a moment of zen once the chaos of the morning has passed.  \nSequences/Postures to Expect: Sun Salutations\, Side bends\, Spinal Twists\, Folds and gentle backbends\, Minimal time in standing postures\, transitions from seating on ground/chair to standing and back down\, from back to belly and to kneeling/table top.  \nNovember 9 to December 14 (6 classes)\n10 to 11 am\nKnottwood Community Centre \nKnottwood Community League Members fees per class are $36 ($6/class)\nNon-members per class are $66 ($11/class)\nRegister Below. \n  \n\nAbout the Class \nFor all classes: I invite you to find comfort in your physical body and peace in your mind\, as you take this time to reconnect with yourself. I have a small selection of props available on a first come basis if you’d like to try them out in a class before purchasing!  \n\nAbout the Instructor \nNamaste\, my name is Patrisha and I’m honored to meet you! I seek to help others thrive in life by nurturing body\, mind and soul with yoga\, and my hope is that you step off the mat feeling refreshed with a spring in your step \nKeep Shining Brightly\, \n– Patrisha Kavanagh Cline \n

SUMMARY:Community League Bike Challenge: June 1 to 30
DESCRIPTION:This June\, select community leagues are taking part in a friendly bike competition from June 1-30. The goal is to see which community can collectively bike the most distance throughout the month. So this is our chance to get some exercise\, stay active during the pandemic and let our neighbourhood shine! Anyone in the Knottwood community can participate\, even kids. \nHow it works \n\nParticipants are invited to track their cycling and pool their kilometres with their neighbours on Strava. Download the Strava App to your mobile device and search for the club “Knottwood Community” to join\, or you can use this link\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can MANUALLY input activities into Strava even if you track your distance with a different device\, just look for the plus sign [+].\n\n\n\n\nOn mobile\, this is found on the “Feed” screen.\n\n\n\nOn a computer\, go to the Strava website\, set up or sign in to your Strava account and choose the “Training” dropdown menu. Select “Activities” and find the plus symbol [+] in the top right corner by your profile picture.)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those without access to the Strava app\, you can submit your weekly total distance (in kilometres) by e-mail to communications@knottwoodcommunity.ca\n\n\n\n\nIf you take your family out for a ride\, your children’s distance counts as well! So if your family of four takes a four-kilometre spin\, you can report 16 km total! \n\nQuestions? Email communications@knottwoodcommunity.ca.
