DESCRIPTION:This June\, select community leagues are taking part in a friendly bike competition from June 1-30. The goal is to see which community can collectively bike the most distance throughout the month. So this is our chance to get some exercise\, stay active during the pandemic and let our neighbourhood shine! Anyone in the Knottwood community can participate\, even kids. \nHow it works \n\nParticipants are invited to track their cycling and pool their kilometres with their neighbours on Strava. Download the Strava App to your mobile device and search for the club “Knottwood Community” to join\, or you can use this link\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can MANUALLY input activities into Strava even if you track your distance with a different device\, just look for the plus sign [+].\n\n\n\n\nOn mobile\, this is found on the “Feed” screen.\n\n\n\nOn a computer\, go to the Strava website\, set up or sign in to your Strava account and choose the “Training” dropdown menu. Select “Activities” and find the plus symbol [+] in the top right corner by your profile picture.)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those without access to the Strava app\, you can submit your weekly total distance (in kilometres) by e-mail to communications@knottwoodcommunity.ca\n\n\n\n\nIf you take your family out for a ride\, your children’s distance counts as well! DESCRIPTION:Help us clean up our neighbourhood!\n\n\n\nThis year\, in conjunction with Earth Day 2021\, we are hosting a community spring clean up week. \nGrab your household and come out and help clean up litter in Ekota\, Menisa and Satoo during the week of April 18 to 25th. \nRegister below and we will drop off a clean-up kit with gloves and garbage bags to your home and leave it on your doorstep between Saturday\, April 17 and Sunday\, April 18. \nYou can pick any spot in Knottwood to clean. Our neighbourhood boundaries are 91 St to 66 St (west to east) and 23 Ave to the Henday (north to south). \nParticipate to win! Each household will be entered to win gift cards to Canadian Tire. Also\, we REALLY want to see your photos of  the community clean up\, so if you post photos of your household cleaning up on Facebook and Instagram and tag #knottwoodspringclean\, you will receive extra entries into the draw. \nLet’s keep everyone safe! DESCRIPTION:Get to know your neighbours this summer! \nWe invite you to “get neighbourly”  this summer and plan a social event for your block or crescent. \nNeighbourhood socials are fun and an excellent way to make new friends\, catch up on the neighbourhood news\, etc. They can be as simple as a neighbourhood BBQ\, potluck\, fire pit gathering\, lawn party\, yard sale\, Canada Day celebration\, neighbourhood walking tour\, soccer game\, or plan a neighbourhood project like helping a family in need or a neighbour with mobility issues clean their yard. \nEvery social event will win City of Edmonton attraction passes. All you have to do is snap a photo of your event and send it to us between May 21 and August 15.  Your pictures will be posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages and/or in our newsletter. You can draw a name at your neighbourhood social to determine who gets the passes or give them to the organizer of the event. DESCRIPTION:Start planning your garage sales!\nKnottwood and Millhurst community leagues (south of 23 Ave) are partnering up to host the 2nd annual multi-community garage sale weekend\, May 31\, June 1 and June 2\, 2019. \nRegister your garage sale and we will help advertise it. Your sale information will be included in our garage sale map and will be promoted at local events\, via our e-mail newsletters\,  Facebook pages and websites. \nYou prepare your items for sale\, and then be prepared for customers. You can participate with whatever times work best for you. \nDeadline to register: May 23\, 2019 \nPLEASE NOTE: You must live in the community of Knottwood or Millhurst and be a member of the community league in order to be listed in our advertisements. DESCRIPTION:Did you know that Knottwood Community League runs Kinder School and Out-of-School-Care programs?  You can come to learn more about both programs at our upcoming Open House where you can view the facilities\, meet the teachers and more! \nKinder School & Out-of-School-Care Open House\nSaturday\, April 6\, 2019\n10 am – 12 pm and 1 – 2 pm\nKnottwood Community League Hall (located behind Satoo School in Satoo Park\, next to the playground). \nAbout\nKinder School (For Kindergarten Students at Satoo School):\nIn close collaboration with Satoo School and its teachers\, we provide an environment focused on the development of Satoo Kindergarten students. Located on the main level of the newly renovated Knottwood Community League (KCL) Hall\, this active play and educational-based program is meant to provide supplemental care to students based on the current curriculum offered by Satoo school. \nOut-of-School Care (Grades 1 to 6):\nIn close collaboration with Satoo School\, we provide an active play and educational-based program allowing full-day care outside school hours for Grades 1 – 6 in the basement of our newly renovated KCL Hall. \nLEARN MORE ABOUT BOTH PROGRAMS HERE \nRSVP below. \nQuestions?
