This is an informal chance to gather and socialize in the Knottwood Community Centre fireside room. \nTea\, coffee and water will be supplied\, and in order to reduce waste\, KCL suggests that individuals bring a reusable beverage container from home. \nTime: Thursdays: 10 am to 11:30 am. DESCRIPTION:7 – 8 pm “Let’s Flow” – All ages*\, Levels* and Mobility*. *Modifications included. \nMindfully move through each shape\, focusing the mind with balances as we transform the physical body through gentle flowing sequences. Movements that inspire us to explore all the spaces in our body\, mind and soul\, while being mindful to find a rhythm true to yourself and to move with kindness for the body you’ve arrived with. This is our most varied offering – allowing you to choose if you want a slower flow or if you want to flow freely\, you decide which works for you!  \nSequences/Postures to Expect: Warrior 1 -> Warrior 2 -> Extended Side Angle\, Table -> Wide Lunge -> Gate Pose\, some Balances\, and Sun Salutations. A mix of low and high energy flows\, as well as plenty of transitions (Seat to Stand\, Stand to back\, Belly to Table\, etc) for you to experiment with. \nSeptember 21 – October 26th (5 classes)\n7 to 8 p.m. \nKnottwood Community League Members fees per class are $36 ($6/class)\nNon-members per class are $66 ($11/class)\nRegister Below. \nAbout the Class \nFor all classes: I invite you to find comfort in your physical body and peace in your mind\, as you take this time to reconnect with yourself. In this offering we will reach\, twist and fold the tension away with gentle sequencing and short pauses to spend time exploring each shape. DESCRIPTION:This June\, select community leagues are taking part in a friendly bike competition from June 1-30. The goal is to see which community can collectively bike the most distance throughout the month. So this is our chance to get some exercise\, stay active during the pandemic and let our neighbourhood shine! Anyone in the Knottwood community can participate\, even kids. \nHow it works \n\nParticipants are invited to track their cycling and pool their kilometres with their neighbours on Strava. Download the Strava App to your mobile device and search for the club “Knottwood Community” to join\, or you can use this link\n\n\n\n\n\n\nYou can MANUALLY input activities into Strava even if you track your distance with a different device\, just look for the plus sign [+].\n\n\n\n\nOn mobile\, this is found on the “Feed” screen.\n\n\n\nOn a computer\, go to the Strava website\, set up or sign in to your Strava account and choose the “Training” dropdown menu. Select “Activities” and find the plus symbol [+] in the top right corner by your profile picture.)\n\n\n\n\n\n\nFor those without access to the Strava app\, you can submit your weekly total distance (in kilometres) by e-mail to communications@knottwoodcommunity.ca\n\n\n\n\nIf you take your family out for a ride\, your children’s distance counts as well! DESCRIPTION:Help us clean up our neighbourhood!\n\n\n\nThis year\, in conjunction with Earth Day 2021\, we are hosting a community spring clean up week. \nGrab your household and come out and help clean up litter in Ekota\, Menisa and Satoo during the week of April 18 to 25th. \nRegister below and we will drop off a clean-up kit with gloves and garbage bags to your home and leave it on your doorstep between Saturday\, April 17 and Sunday\, April 18. \nYou can pick any spot in Knottwood to clean. Our neighbourhood boundaries are 91 St to 66 St (west to east) and 23 Ave to the Henday (north to south). \nParticipate to win! Each household will be entered to win gift cards to Canadian Tire. Also\, we REALLY want to see your photos of  the community clean up\, so if you post photos of your household cleaning up on Facebook and Instagram and tag #knottwoodspringclean\, you will receive extra entries into the draw. \nLet’s keep everyone safe! If yes\, then we invite you to take part in Knottwood’s first annual Beautiful Yards Contest. \nHow it works\nSend us a photo or your front and/or backyard or nominate your neighbour. Pictures will be posted to our Knottwood Community League Facebook page and Instagram page where our followers will vote. \nWin great prizes\nThe top five yards with the most likes or hearts will win some Knottwood swag\, including a 2019-20 community league membership (which gets you access to free swimming\, skating and more)\, and passes to popular City of Edmonton attractions.
